From April 8–10, aeroLiFi exhibited at Aircraft Interiors Expo (AIX) 2025 in Hamburg, presenting the latest advancements in LiFi technology to a global aviation audience. With its interference-free performance, license-free global operation, and enhanced security, LiFi makes onboard connections better and gives passengers faster, more dependable access to data.
We demonstrated our high-speed laser link, capable of reaching data rates close to 10 Gbps – with potential for much more. This solution is ideal for gate link applications, allowing fast and secure data exchange between the aircraft and ground systems while the plane is parked. This use case supports shorter turnaround times, helping airlines reduce ground time and operational costs.
We also introduced the second generation of our LiFi System, which now features:
- Compact “light antennas” for easier integration
- Up to 5 antennas per access point
- Wider area coverage without increasing installation expenses
- Greater flexibility and scalability to match different cabin layouts
Together with TU Dresden, we showcased how LiFi can enable precise localization. This capability brings added value to cabin logistics and improves overall efficiency.
